Visionary director Tina Landau and award-winning writer Kyle Jarrow, take note! A completely unqualified college film student is going to give some input on how to make your fantastic new SpongeBob musical all the better. Shoutout to the entire cast and crew for being so amazing and nice.
One year after the film's release, some college-aged fanboy grapples with the weighty issue of whether he should praise it or complain about it. This is my longest video yet, and despite largely relying on existing footage, took about a month of on-and-off work to create. It touches upon the film's announcement, the disaster that could have been, false advertising, the incorporation of celebrities in family films, "random" humor and non-sequiturs, 2D vs 3D animation, the representation of the show, production troubles, comparing the two movies and their soundtracks, cheating the audience, childish humor, what defines a movie, repetitive structure, post-movie characterizations/flanderizations, deciphering lyrics, plot holes, growing up and the effect it has on films, drawing out the punchline, box office returns, buddy movie structure, and what makes a good movie. I also throw around a lot of SpongeBob merchandise. Dishonorable Credits- Garfield Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip Teen Titans Go!
Happy holidays, everybody. It's finally here- I talk in depth about how Ice Age's sub-zero heroes became sub...par.
